We are pleased to announce the upcoming International Congress organized by the Universidad Loyola Andalucía in collaboration with UNIJES and Kircher Network and the support International Association of Jesuit Universities (IAJU). Entitled "The Jesuit University in the 21st Century: A Project of Hope for the World", the event is scheduled from June 4 to 6, 2025, in Seville, Spain

The research areas of the congress are related to Health Sciences, Engineering, Ecology and Sustainability, Theology, Philosophy and Humanities, Sociology, Law, Economics, Political Science, Psychology, Communication, Arts, Pedagogy and Education.

Aligned with the visionary objectives outlined in the Society of Jesus's Universal Apostolic Preferences, this Congress aims to address the mission of Jesuit institutions.

It responds to the call made by Fr. Arturo Sosa SJ., Superior General of the Society of Jesus, during the IAJU Assembly in Boston in 2022 to deepen Jesuit universities' academic, research, and advocacy endeavours.

In today's globalized world, with global problems, Jesuit universities recognize the necessity of collaborative efforts to fulfil their educational and intellectual apostolates. Therefore, this Congress endeavours to bring together researchers and professors from Jesuit universities worldwide. This objective aligns with the mandates of the 34th, 35th, and 36th General Congregations of the Society of Jesus, emphasising increased collaboration and networking as essential components of the Jesuit mission.

Scholars from all Jesuit higher education institutions and from other universities who align with its mission are invited to submit abstracts and participate in this internationally recognized academic event. Participants will address contemporary global challenges through an interdisciplinary approach while remaining hopeful. The Congress is an academic platform for scholars from various disciplines to share their research contributions, aiming to foster a more just, humane, and reconciled world.

The organizing committee has issued a call for abstracts, and submissions will be considered by several highly ranked journals specializing in the disciplines covered by the Congress to amplify the scholarly impact of the event.

With an eye on the future, this initiative aims to foster increased dialogue and collaboration among researchers from diverse disciplines focusing on strategic topics essential to the intellectual mission of Jesuit universities.
